Experienced film editor needed for indie feature documentary film shot on the front lines of the Donbass War between Russia and Ukraine. We had a long, unprecedented and very unique access to the Russian side of the front lines, differently from the majority of the material we have seen from the various western outlets either online, or mainstream news and in other films on the same subject.

We currently have a rough cut that needs to be re-shaped, integrated with new footage and taken to the next level.

We are looking for a very skilled editor who can think out of the box, not afraid to experiment on story structure and suggest innovative ideas. Needs to be a great team player, fully committed, take challenges and able to push the envelope.

The rate paid will be adjusted according to industry standards and experience.

The current rough cut duration is about 110'

Footage is all organized and pre-edited in Premiere Pro running on a Mac Pro

The spoken language is English and Russian, all translated, transcribed and subtitled. Russian language understanding is a plus.

We are based in Manhattan but able to fly editor in and accomodate if necessary.

Estimated timeframe for get a new rough cut is 8 weeks, ideally starting from beginning February but we can be flexible.
