Highlights
-
I'm a Director/Self-Shooter based in the South East with experience in a range of genres and programme types- from short-form fiction and drama to music videos, event filming and corporates. Much of my experience has been on fiction work- something which I believe has made me a better storyteller, which is ultimately what film and video production is all about!
I'm used to working on tight budgets and/or with limited resources and pride myself on being an innovative and creative filmmaker with an ability to think from the edit backwards, thus saving time and money. I'm a firm believer that "Content is King" and try to put all my energy into telling a good story or putting across a strong message.
I have written a number of screenplays and I am a competent storyboarder- hand drawn and digital. I am also an experienced editor of narrative work, primarily using Final Cut Pro and FCPX.
I work well with actors- having been an (admittedly unsuccessful!) actor in my youth- and understand their needs and processes for creating strong performances. Because of my experience as a lighting cameraman and my multi-skilled background, I am also well-placed to communicate effectively with a crew so as to bring a film to life.
I do a lot of work as a self-shooter (as is the case with many corporate projects) but I prefer working in a small crew. I have shot (and edited) a lot of multi-camera event work- such as music performances, conferences and private events- and can coordinate a four-man camera team for this type of shoot.
