About me
After graduating with a BA in Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing in London I returned to my home country Holland to persue a career in Costume Design. I worked as an intern on my first feature film in Amsterdam starring Naomi Watts, James Marshall, Michael Ironside among others, and after several Dutch films and TV projects went on to work in a variety of industries to broaden my horizons. I returned to London nearly six years ago to specialise in the making of clothes, completing a Savile Row tailoring course and London College of Fashion short courses since being back. I am currently working for a high end womenswear designer as a seamstress/machinist and luxury style consultant. I also continue working on commision for private clients.I am now extremely eager to return to a costume design team for a film, TV or theatre production in the role of wardrobe assistant/mistress/ costume maker.
Additional information:
I have all the necessary skills, qualities and background needed to fulfill the job of assistant costume designer, maker or wardrobe assistant. Having worked in different industries over the years has made my transferrable skills set too long to list here! At every job I have ever done, including my time on film sets in Holland, I was praised by my coworkers and employers for my excellent communication skills, people skills, organisation and enthusiasm. My background in fashion design and tailoring gives me the necessary skills to work with clothes, as well as a good understanding of how clothes make a character. I am very used to multi tasking and have no hesitations about getting stuck in and pitching in with whatever jobs need doing. As far as I am concerned a production can only be realised by a TEAM of willing and able individuals. I have experience in big budget feature films as well as small scale low (no) budget productions so I know I would be an asset to any film crew team.
