A make-up artist is responsible for applying make-up to the actors in a production. This can involve special effects make-up, such as aging the actors or making them look injured, and prosthetics.



A make-up artist is also responsible for touching up the make-up throughout the shoot to ensure continuity.



Most make-up artists undertake a course in Make-up or Special Effects make-up and often start as Make-up assistants to build up their experience.
