| The most rewarding aspect of working as a Stage manager is that, when the night has finished you know you have done the best of your ability to give the audience the full magic of the theatre! |

| The key skills are as follows;
-Level headed,
Time keeper,
Patience,
Organization,
Health and Safety,
The ability to work under pressure,
quick problem solving. |
| Question 3: Do you see your role as a natural step on a career ladder, and if so what is the next rung? |
| In the future I want to have made a good impression in both the theatre world and the Television. Also I would like to be working full time in either a theatre or the television. |
| Question 4: How did you work your way into your current role? |
| Determination, the willingness to learn, people skills and also getting the right contacts for the right job, and sheer hard work. |
| Question 5: How much do you think networking helps towards landing a job in the industry? |
| Networking in the industry is vital for survival in the industry. |
| Question 6: Do you think you will be working in the industry in the next five years, and if so in what capacity? |
| I will be working as a Stage Manager. |
| Question 7: Please describe what a typical day working as a Stage Manager might contain? |
| A typical day as a Stage Manager would be to get in the theatre and straight away start on working with other people to make sure the production area is safe, and also to be checking constantly if there is anything the producers want changed, to be making sure every person has the right time to warm up if working on a ballet, to get to the production time with no mistakes happening, and if they do work fast to sort them. Then finally doing the show night smoothly giving the audience the best show they can see. |
| Question 8: Have you done any additional training courses to further your career? |
| I have done a National Diploma in Production Arts which entailed me to have experience in, hair, make-up, all aspects of design (set, costume, make-up), Costume making, Set dressing, and sometimes building, Wardrobe skills (to manage a wardrobe) and more. |
| Question 9: How important is working for free at the beginning of your career? |
| As I am currently working free for the begging of my career I believe that it is positively necessary to work for free or volunteer, but now as I am moving forward with my career, paid work is desirable. |
