Making a silk purse out of a pig's ear.
 
Question 2: What are the key skills required to be an effective Editor (Avid)?
Cutting through the BS and making the most out of the footage quickly and creatively.
 
Question 3: Do you see your role as a natural step on a career ladder, and if so what is the next rung?
I'm an editor, I went through film then to tape and now digital, I'm always trying to improve to be a better editor.
 
Question 4: How did you work your way into your current role?
Hard work, good bed-side manner and hard work.
 
Question 5: How much do you think networking helps towards landing a job in the industry?
Heaps.
 
Question 6: Do you think you will be working in the industry in the next five years, and if so in what capacity?
I'll be running my own Post Production company.
 
Question 7: Please describe what a typical day working as a Editor (Avid) might contain?
Describing Fermis' last theorum to an a newly descovered Amazonian native.
 
Question 8: Have you done any additional training courses to further your career?
I've done Apple Certified courses, have attended an AVID Super users course at AVID's Pinewood headquarters and various other on-line courses.
 
Question 9: How important is working for free at the beginning of your career?
Probably the only way to get into the industry these days, hope your parents are loaded!
