About me
The appeal of film to me resides in its ability to create compelling stories about characters and places that, in reality, don’t exist. Film gives you the power to build worlds that aren’t bound by the laws of nature. This is all possible thanks to the advancement of technology that never seems to end. That is the biggest reason I became interested in filmmaking. I love technology, and learning the ways we can utilize it to tell stories. In today’s world, anyone can be a filmmaker. The technology is so readily available, that even our cell phones now have the power to shoot remarkable films. The thing about film that really captures my admiration is the post production side of the process. Editing is my passion, and something I want to pursue as a career. The power an editor has is unlike any other part of the production. Editors set the pacing of film, and choose what and when a certain shot should be shown. They create the feeling of a scene, by putting multiple shots together, that separate, wouldn’t have nearly the effect they would have by being together.

Additional information:
My background includes working on a grain farm where I have learned many things and gained a lot of skills that I would not have otherwise. This is also where I began to develop my creativity, as repairing things around the farm often required ingenuity, since things usually don’t happen the easy way. Growing up on a farm has also taught me patience and perseverance, being that most jobs are tedious or strenuous. Time management is another aspect I have learned since there is always something to do on the farm and most jobs require long hours.
